Welcome to Kloster Drübeck/ Drübeck Convent
Conference centre of the Evangelische kIrche in Mitteldeutschland. As an institution for education, communication, consultation and spiritual care, it combines the institute for pedagogics and theology (Pädagogisch-Theologisches Institut), the school of pastoral care (Pastoralkolleg) and a house of silence and spiritual exercises (Haus der Stille) on the grounds of a former Benedictine Convent. The convent was first officially mentioned in 960, in the deed of donation paper from Otto I., who was appointed Holy Roman Emperor two years later in 962. After Reformation, Kloster Drübeck was turned into a Protestant convent. Along with its Romanesque convent church, Kloster Drübeck is located at the Straße der Romantic road - a road leading past a number of beautiful locations in Germany - and features several appropriate details, such as historic gardens, a 300 year old tame lime and quiet places in the convent gardens available to both groups and people travelling on their own.
