A lot of monuments to the town´s industry are material evidence for the turbulent history, its rise, heyday and decay. The districts of Kupferhammer (Copper Forge), Eisenspalterei (Iron Mill) and Messingwerk (Brass Foundry) are reminiscent of the three oldest industrial cantres of town. Some monuments to the industrial history have been included in the Family Park of Eberswalde, which was laid out on the former area of the Brandeburg Landscape Gradening Exhibition of 2002. The Eberswalde Zoo is also a very popular desination. The "Museum at the Eagle´s Chemist´s" (Adlerapotheke), St Mary Magdalene Church as well as the Botanical Garden of Forestry are also worth a visit. When looking for refreshment, you should opt for a cruller as this delicious as well as nutrious round pastry was invented here in 1832.
